our brand new semester starts today with two toxicology lectures given by Dr. Rohi. this is my first time having ‘her’ lecture because the pharmacology lectures we had before are given by lecturers from our own faculty. the first impression is bad since ’she’ is half an hour late to the lecture, but after that, every thing is just nice! the way ’she’ give out lecture is different from the others, at least it’s not as boring..

most lecturers that i met before are all ’slide readers’, they just come in and read their slides without further explanation, what an easy job! everyone who manage to read English can do so and why the government pay them such a high salary every month just to read out their slides in the class? sometimes i was wondering if we are having an English lecture instead. maybe the lecturers think that we don’t know how to pronounce words in the slides correctly and so they do us a favor by reading it from the first until the very last word.

for me, i prefer a lecture to be a session for the lecturer to share the knowledge that he/she possess, and the power point slides are just to aid in the process of sharing, serving as an illustration. i know that university students are suppose to be more independent in their study, but that gives reason for lecturers to become lazier and lazier too.. i did being independent in my study so far as i had never listen to the lecture since i can read all the notes on my own, attending lecture is just to sign for the attendance, nothing else.. how sad!!

lastly, i want to shout out loud for myself and other university students:

WE NEED A LECTURER, NOT A READING ROBOT!!

I just came back from ipoh, a great trip it is.. but the only let down is that:

i got a saman!! the first time in my life!!

it happened on the second day, when we are going to eat Ipoh ‘dim sum’. well, the ‘dim sum’ is really delicious, many special types that i never eat before, but the ‘price’ is really expensive. after finishing the dishes, we get into the car and ready to go to our next destination: Gua Kek Lok, suddenly siew man noticed there is a red paper under the wiper. so i get out and take a look at that paper,

a RM40 saman!! i don’t know what is my fault at first, because i got use parking coupon, what did i offended?! wait, by looking back the coupon, i knew what happened. at the very bottom of the coupon, stated that the coupon is just for half an hour!

okok, my fault, how careless i am!! well, i am from Muar, and Muar people used to use coupons that can last for an hour, how would i know Ipoh coupons are so damn special! haha, i always got reason for mistakes that i did..
